QUESADILLAS (MEXICAN FOOD)






THE QUESADILLA IS AN ESSENTIAL RECIPE AND MEAL IN THE MEXICAN CULTURE. IT IS ALSO TO BE CONSIDERED AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD. YET THE QUESADILLA HAS A ROOTS THAT EXPAND BEYOND MEXICAN TRADITION.

INGREDIENTS FOR TORTILLA.


1. 2 CUP WHEAT FLOUR
2. 1TSP BAKING POWDER
3. 2TBSP COOKING OIL
4. 1/4 TSP SALT
5. 350 ML WARM WATER
6. BUTTER

INGREDIENTS FOR QUESADILLAS

1. COOKING OIL
2. 1 BIG ONION
3. 1.GREEN BELL PEPPER
4. 1CUP CORN
5. 1 AVOCADO
6. 500 GRAM SPINACH
7. PIZZA SAUCE
8. TOMATO SAUCE
9. 1/4 TSP BLACK PEPPER
10. 1/4 TSP OREGANO
11. 1/4 TSP RED CHILI FLAKES
12. 1/4 TSP BASIL LEAVES
13. CHEESE

NOTE: YOU CAN USE ANY KIND OF VEGETABLES LIKE ZUCCHINI, RED BELL PEPPER, YELLOW BELL PEPPER, MUSHROOMS ETC

METHOD FOR TORTILLA


1. IN A BIG BOWL ADD 2CUP WHEAT FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, SALT AND OIL.


2. MAKE A WELL IN BETWEEN. ADD WARM WATER AS PER REQUIREMENT.



3. KNEAD THE DOUGH. DOUGH SHOULD BE LITTLE SOFT. TO [PREPARE SOFT TORTILLA.


4. LET DOUGH REST FOR AT LEAST HALF N HOUR. IF YOU WANT YOU CAN COVER  A DOGH WITH WET KITCHEN TOWEL.


METHOD TO PREPARE QUESADILLA


1. HEAT A OIL IN A PAN. STIR FRY ALL VEGETABLES EXCEPT SPINACH.


2.  BLANCH SPINACH. THAN MIX ALL VEGETABLES AND SEASONINGS.

3.  PREHEAT A LARGE SKILLET( TAWA) OVER MEDIUM HIGH HEAT. USE A WELL FLOURED ROLLING PIN TO ROLL A DOUGH BALL INTO A THIN,  ROUND TORTILLA PLACE INTO THE HOT SKILLET (TAWA) AND  COOK UNTIL BUBBLY AND  GOLDEN FLIP AND CONTINUE  COOKING  UNTIL GOLDEN ON THE OTHER SIDE. PLACE THE COOKED TORTILLA IN THE TORTILLA WARMER. CONTINUE ROLLING THE REMAINING DOUGH.


4. ON THE TOP OF THE TORTILLA SPREAD PIZZA SAUCE AND TOMATO SAUCE.


5. NOW SPREAD ALL STIR FRY VEGGIES, SPRINKLE SOME CHEESE. TAKE OTHER TORTILLA SPREAD SAUCE AND PIZZA SAUCE.

6. ON A HEATING PAN ADD SOME BUTTER COOK THE QUESADILLA FOR FEW SECONDS OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN THAN FLIP TO OTHER SIDE.

7. REMOVE THE QUESADILLA FROM PAN. THAN CUT IT INTO 4 PIECE

8. YOUR YUMMY, DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY QUESADILLA IS READY. YOU CAN SERVE WITH  AVOCADO, SALSA OR GUCAMOLE.
